For as long as I have known myself I have always been different. Seeing things and people from a unique angle. I have always loved to dance, sing, and act out movies that I enjoyed. Pulling others in with me, my cousin, baby sister and even friends. As I watched my grandmother care for others I too developed a heart for people. My dad (who I rarely saw) was an entrepreneur and lived in a beautiful home, He owned property and had his independence. Though I was not a part of that luxury; just seeing it was enough for me to develop an attraction to be an entrepreneur. After experiencing many negative things as a child and into my teenage years, I developed an attraction to & a passion for encouragement. I needed a lot of it as a young adult. When you put all these things together you can understand the me that I am today. Though some of the things I do now still baffle me. Those are the basics though.
I am the girl that watches Christmas movies all year long. I love having a family. I enjoy seeing people happy and I am an optimist. I see hope in everything. Weird but true. Though life is life, and experiences are experiences, they are all connected to growth & development. I believe that our choices land us in situations that can give us enjoyment or training. Still it gives us something. So, either way we win.
I produced my first production in my neighbors living room at the age of 13 and today at the age of 35 I am still at it. I love production so much that I do not even need to be on the stage. Just structuring, teaching, preparing the lines, poems and songs are enough for me. I love the look on the faces of the audience members. The laugher and sometimes even the tears, shows me that we are serving a vitally important purpose doing the shows. Though I am not moved by compliments, the participants in the production work quite hard, so I listen for the comments and applause and look at the eyes of my cast members. When they see that their hard work has paid off, it encourages them, and that encourages me.
I began my enterprise with my specialty products company selling framed poems to friends and family in 2006. This was at a time when my growing family was struggling with finding a consistent place to live. It was going well so I (through learning from Camba) learned how to register a company which I did do in June of 2007. I believed that if motivation and inspiration could help me, I would do the same for others. Business was up and down along the way. Many things have happened good and bad. As my faith grew so did the challenges. The company began to grow when one thing leaned & we pushed back by creating something new and bam! Here we are today with an 8-tier company which uses creativity, communication, events, products & productions to inform, inspire and empower.
The thing no one tells you is that you must be willing to fail your way to success. You know why you’re doing it and the process to which you are taking to get there. Still, until your clients find you, and you learn how to reach them, you are in the middle of the ocean without a boat surrounded by sharks. The reason for this dear friend is because the journey is a part of the process. The challenges make the victories that much sweeter. What is your challenge pushing you towards? How do you encourage yourself when in the ocean? We are here excited to share; how can we inspire you? You won’t know until you join us, stop in at our next PCE production near you, and embrace the empowerment!
